    Florence Farr

    ISBN: 1872189768
    Paperback 152 pages

Born in 1860, Florence Farr was a member of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, and author of a book on Egyptian Magic. She was a gifted psychic, an adept at scrying, interested in spiritualism, astral projection and divination, keen to make contact with other realms via her mystical experiments which she conducted in The Sphere Group (a side-group of the Golden Dawn). She was a keen student of alchemy, a Kabbalist, a writer and Egyptologist having studied with Budge at the British Museum.

Reproduced for the first time since the original publication in 1894 and hard to find until now. The Dancing Faun is a chilly, fast-paced story told with wit and deadly charm. The cold and frustrating characters first appear uncomplicated. It reads as a play, the characters appearing as if on cue and the scenes changing quickly. The presence of Florence permeates it. Her assertion that the characters are not taken from real life is untrue. Certainly they – and their ideas – are based on those around her. It is satirical, mocking, frivolous, and Florence claims to have written it as a ‘bit of a joke’. It is the kind of vengeance fantasy one may have if wronged. Farr's esoteric ideas also just peep through the story. Florence was eager for it to be promoted when it was first published.

    Zalewski, Pat

Practical Magic techniques of the Golden Dawn revealed! Founded in 1888, by legendary magicians Wynn Westcott and S.L. MacGregor Mathers, the Golden Dawn has been a major influence on the development of Western Magic. Although the material which inspired adepts such as Aleister Crowley and W.B Yeats has been available, until now there has been little explaination as to how this group performed its rites of ritual magic.

Now at last Pat Zalewski, himself an adept within the Golden Dawn system, has revealed secrets that have never before been published or which were only communicated orally to a handful of select pupils.
